a look into the expereince of working with dcp

If I’m going to be your photographer, we have to have chemistry!  I love meeting with couples either for coffee, a Coke, a cookie or even on Skype to get to know you and your love story.  During this chat, we’ll find out if we’re good fit for each other.  Kind of like a first date! I want to hear all about your vision and what is important to you as a couple.

If you’d like to make it official, heck yeah!  The first step is to fill out a quick questionnaire to gather information for the contract.  Then we sign online, and make a retainer payment.  Then your date is offically booked!  I’m happy to answer any questions or concerns along the way.

If you have opted for an engagement session, we will work together to plan the best time of year + location for your session.  We chat all about style, outfits and an overall vibe beforehand.  When the day comes, I’d like you to be as relaxed as you can.  Engagement sessions are our second date, so they’re fun, laid back, and we laugh A LOT.  During our session, I’ll give guidance to look your best. Our goal will be lots of laughter and honest expressions of love, so I’ll give you subtle direction while you interact naturally.  I love to make people feel beautiful and comfortable in front of the camera, not uptight or pressured to get crazy shots.

Once we’re 6-8 weeks out from your big day, we’ll start making sure that we’re completely prepared and ready for your wedding! Based on the location of your ceremony + reception, sunset times and whether or not we will be doing a first look, we’ll work together to create your perfect timeline.  It is my mission to ensure that you don’t miss out on your dream wedding photos, but that you still get to enjoy and soak in every moment of your day.

It’s here! Time for you to celebrate, and for me to get to work! I believe in telling the full story of a couple’s wedding day, so I never shoot less than 8 hours. When your wedding day is over it might feel like a blur, so I make it a priority to capture all the traditional shots that every couple needs (portraits, kiss, first dance, cake, and more), plus all the special little spontaneous moments in between. I also get to meet your family and friends and capture their enjoyment of everything you’ve worked so hard to plan.

After your wedding day, you’ll receive a few sneak peek photos for a glimpse of your story, and to share on social media.  About 6-8 weeks later, you’ll receive an online gallery full of all of your wedding memories.  There will be HUNDREDS of them! I encourage you to sit down with your new spouse and a glass of wine that night, and relive your wedding day through your photos.  If you’ve ordered an album, you can initiate the customization process by selecting your favorite images from your online viewing gallery. Then we work together to create a beautiful curated story of your day.

Now that you’re a part of the DCP family and we’ve had a blast working together, I encourage you to stay in touch.  One of my favorite parts of my job is when clients become friends. Being invited to document other special moments in their lives like babies, anniversaries, and friend’s weddings (I love it when I see a DCP bride in a bridesmaid’s dress later!) is such an honor.  All past DCP couples are given special “LIFETIME CLIENT” pricing for Lifestyle Sessions, including maternity, newborn, family and anniversary.  But no rush...enjoy the honeymoon first!
